and some sublime and melancholic moments in the history of cinema
On FridayFebruary 13, at 6:00 pm the Psychoanalytic Institut for Social Research – IPRS Ets, and the Elvio Fachinelli Advanced Studies in Psychoanalysis – ISAP, will present a conference exploring the relationship between cinema and psychoanalysis, with a focus on the work of Krzysztof Kieślowski.

and some sublime and melancholic moments in the history of cinema
The event will feature Peter Jansson, psychoanalyst and cultural theorist based in Gothenburg (Sweden) and head of the Academy for Psychoanalysis, with Sergio Benvenuto, psychoanalyst and writer, founder of the European Journal of Psychoanalysis and president of the Elvio Fachinelli Institute – ISAP, serving as discussant.
Starting from Kieślowski’s cinema, the discussion will address key themes of contemporary subjectivity such as lack, loss, desire, and melancholy, through a dialogue between images, clinical experience, and theoretical reflection.
The conference will be moderated by Raffaele Bracalenti, MD and psychotherapist, president of IPRS – Psychoanalytic Institut for Social Research Ets.

The seminar will be held in English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.
